We have a wonderful space in Arts Central. The "box" gallery is the perfect space to come and make some noise, without worrying about annoying the neighbours!
With subdued lighting, candles and beautiful projection on the ceiling, it is a calm space.
This venue is accessible, the room is on the ground floor, with only a small raised threshold to cross.

From early human times rhythm has been used for communication and is still vital to our wellbeing today.
Even before we are born we are synchronised to the heart beat of our mothers, and as newborns skin to skin contact allows our nervous systems to be regulated by our caregivers heart rate.
The physical act of drumming releases the "happy chemicals" in our brains, reducing stress, relaxing our bodies and discharging stuck energy.

The room is set up in a circle, the traditional expression of equality within a group.
With no hierarchy, it symbolises the co-creation of community.
Each month this temporary community provides a safe space where a sense of meaning, and belonging grow.
The circle represents a space set aside from the every day, a refuge, a retreat, a place to be in the moment.
